Livestock Grants and Barn Automation

The Rural Development Investment Programme supports barn, fold, machinery and equipment investments for dairy and beef cattle, sheep and goats and poultry with 50–70% grants. We prepare the project to the mandatory space and equipment rules of the implementation guidelines and make herd, manure and barn climate management trackable with sensors.

Which investments do we prepare?

  • Dairy cattle and buffalo barn (TÜY-B)

    Milking herd section, milking parlour, calving pen, sick bay and calf pens are mandatory. New dairy facilities must plan the barn and a fixed milking unit together, with a milk cooling tank holding at least 2 days of milk.

  • Beef barn (TÜY-B)

    Animal section, sick bay, entrance disinfection pit and manure and feed storage sized to capacity are mandatory. Manure scraper, mixer, pump and automatic drinkers are mandatory equipment.

  • Sheep and goat fold (TÜY-C)

    Lambing and sick pens, a lamb/kid section of at least 60% of the adult area and a disinfection area are planned. Folds over 500 head must include a washing unit.

  • Poultry (TÜY-Ç)

    Outside the planned production provinces only capacity expansion and modernisation/automation applications are accepted. Capacity must match the table in the guide.

  • Herd management

    On dairy farms, mastitis, heat, calving and insemination tracking is mandatory equipment. We install the system and bring the data onto one screen.

  • Barn climate and remote monitoring

    Fans and misting run on temperature, humidity and ammonia sensors; drinker and manure system faults send alerts to your phone.

Herd size and capacity conditions

  • For cattle, the applicant's existing or committed herd must be at least 50% of project capacity, reaching at least 90% by the end of monitoring.
  • For sheep and goats these thresholds are at least 40% at application and 85% at the end of monitoring.
  • Dairy cattle and sheep-goat projects must include a herd projection, which counts as a commitment.
  • Family farms of up to 5 cattle, 25 sheep/goats or 250 poultry are eligible under every investment type.
  • If an active farm only buys machinery and equipment, the mandatory space and equipment criteria do not apply.
