About the idea
Geothermal heat sharply lowers heating costs compared with a conventional greenhouse. The region grows strawberries, bananas, tomatoes, cucumbers and cut flowers; Turkey's first specialised geothermal greenhouse zone is in Denizli. The greenhouse matures in 1.5–3 years; cash flow follows the harvest cycle. 50–70% grants under the 2026/9 rural development programme can lower the effective capital need.
Risks and mitigation
Capital intensity, greenhouse operating know-how and geothermal water contract costs.
