AI-Powered Autonomous Farms: Turkey's Agricultural Shift Through Technology

The TÜME Foundation and TEKNOFEST are pairing 22 agricultural entrepreneurs from 12 cities with 100-head AI-supported autonomous farms, with a long-term goal of 40,000 such farms.

Since TEKNOFEST 2025, the TÜME Foundation has been going door to door and village to village to select agricultural entrepreneurs. Under the programme led by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the T3 Foundation, 22 pioneering agricultural entrepreneurs from 12 cities were officially announced at TEKNOFEST Southeastern Anatolia. Each will begin production on a 100-head, AI-supported autonomous farm on their own land in their own city. (Source: Anadolu Agency)

The programme is not limited to building farms. Entrepreneurs first complete a one-month training at TÜME training farms, then take an exam and are matched with investors. Training topics include animal health, herd management, production planning, farm management, robotics, sensors, data analytics and AI-assisted production.

In one year, 24 autonomous farms were established — 12 at universities and 12 for agricultural entrepreneurs — with a target of 40 farms operational by the end of the year. Under a protocol signed with the Council of Higher Education, autonomous training farms are being granted to universities. The long-term goal is an ecosystem connecting 40,000 young agricultural entrepreneurs with 40,000 next-generation autonomous farms.

This programme confirms the direction we advocate: efficiency and sustainability in farming come from sensors, local processors and artificial intelligence. We describe our Raspberry Pi-based irrigation, coop and herd automation solutions on our Farm Automation page.
