In Uşak, Fields Left Uncultivated for Two Years Are Being Rented Out

In Uşak, a rental process has started for farmland left uncultivated for two consecutive years. Farmers who want to produce can apply.

In Uşak, a rental process has started to bring farmland that has long gone unploughed back into production. The Uşak Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry published the lists of uncultivated fields at the beginning of September; a new announcement on the rental process followed on 22 September.

The most striking part of the practice is that privately owned land left out of production for a certain period can be rented by other producers. Ownership does not change; the rent is paid to the owner.

The fields to be rented are identified using village or neighbourhood, locality, block and parcel information along with the size of the land. The work is not limited to the city centre; farmland in Banaz, Eşme, Karahallı, Sivaslı and Ulubey is also covered.

Landowners should check whether their property appears on the lists, and farmers who want to produce should review the areas open for application. It is a process worth following for the lands in our region, including Eşme. (Source: Uşak Haber Gazetesi)
